When ideas are percolating, elements may be drawn a few times until I get them right. Here’s an example of a Warrior Goddess that is for a new piece in the “Rum Punch” series. She is far from exactly what I want for the final piece but there are design elements that I like or may feel is going in the right direction. So, I write notes on my sketches, like writers and directors might do on scripts.
March was a crazy month but in the middle of all the chaos I was part of a Doctor Who Gala and Art Show in San Francisco. The Giclee print made from the digital file was stunning. The piece didn’t sell, but I took away from the experience and am looking forward to working with the promoters again in the near future.
It is a Holly Jolly Holiday indeed. Today we celebrate 50 years of Disney’s Mary Poppins. Hope everyone finds time to enjoy this classic today, or at least go out and fly a kite!
